Thomas Wilson Overton was the son of Thomas and Evangaline Overton, née Hardacre and brother of Private David Allan Ewart Overton [26264] (q.v.). Their father was born at Sutton-in-Craven and mother at Keighley, Yorkshire.

1901 Skipton, Yorkshire Census: 8, Cowper Street - Thomas W. Overton, aged 6 years, born Skipton, son of Thomas and Evangaline Overton.

In the early 1900s the family were living in Argentina, South America.
