Harold Binks was the son of Thomas and Elizabeth Binks, née Whitehead. Thomas was born at Well and Elizabeth at Thornton Watlass, Yorkshire.

1901 Snape, Yorkshire Census: Snape Park - Harrold [sic] Binks, aged 6 years, born Well, Yorkshire, son of Thomas and Elizabeth Binks.

Harold was married to Hannah Paley (Airey) in 1916. Hannah, born 22 June 1996, was the daughter of Dorothy Airey, who married John Paley, 12 December 1896. Hannah married Harold's brother, Horace Binks, in 1930.
