COLNE SOLDIER KILLED

Mrs. Gladstone, of 31, Collingwood-street, Colne, has received official information that her son, Pte. Speight Gladstone, of the 2nd Batt. Border Regiment, has been killed in action in France. The deceased soldier, who enlisted on October 30th last year, went to the front about a month ago. He was only 18 years of age, and prior to enlisting was employed as an apprentice painter by the Colne Co-operative Society.
