FAWCETT – Missing since September 25th, 1916, and now reported killed, Pte. George Henry Fawcett, of the Royal Scots Fusiliers, son of Mrs. Fawcett, of Sutton, formerly of Skipton, aged 26 years.

SKIPTON'S ROLL OF HONOUR – PRIVATE GEORGE HENRY FAWCETT

After being reported as missing since September 25th, 1915, Private George Henry Fawcett, of the Royal Scots Fusiliers, and son of Mrs. Fawcett, of Sutton (formerly of Skipton), has now been reported by the War Office as killed. Deceased was about 26 years of age, and prior to enlisting was a miner at Durham. He leaves a widow and son, who live in Durham. Two of his brothers are also serving in the Army – Pte. Jack Fawcett and Pte. Fred Fawcett.

A SUTTON SOLDIER KILLED

News has been received by his mother, Mrs. Fawcett, of Sutton, of the death of her son, Private George Henry Fawcett, of the Royal Scots Fusiliers. At the time of his enlistment, Private Fawcett, who was 26 years of age, lived at Durham. Two years ago he resided at Skipton, and was then a member of the Congregational Sunday School. He was reported missing about September 25th 1915, and was reported killed on September 11th 1916. He has two brothers serving in the Army.
